Library
The Library attempts to contain every book
by or about The Salvation Army. It also holds files of most
Salvation Army journals. The books are classified by an adaption
of the Dewey classification system and are described on the
computer database. Books are for use at the centre and are not
generally available for loan.
Microfilm
The centre's collection of microfilm includes:
The Christian Mission Magazine (1869 -1878)
All extant War Crys published in Australia to 1980
The International War Cry (London) 1878 - 1899)
Full Salvation (1883 - 1896)
Letters of William and Catherine Booth
Plans and photographs of various Salvation Army properties in
Australia
The Officer magazine
The Disposition of Forces in Australia
The Salvation Army Yearbook (1912 - 1980)
Computer Database
The computer records contain many thousands of references and may
be accessed through Idealist which will search for any word,
including places and personal names.
The database is not primarily set up for genealogical studies.
Many individual Salvationists are listed but it does not contain
indexes of births, deaths or marriages.
