A series of "silk" covers produced by Benham's of Folkestone 

Benham's of Folkestone, Kent, UK have long been recognised as producers of some of the most beautiful first day and commemorative covers. Featured below are some of those covers that have been produced for Salvation Army events

This cover was produced to mark the 100th birthday of Commissioner Catherine Bramwell Booth C.B.E. The pictorial postmark is for the Region Hall Corps, London. Dated 20th July 1983.


A cover produced to commemorate the Centenary of Woodbridge Corps, Suffolk. The pictorial postmark features the Salvation Army Crest and is for Woodbridge, Suffolk. Dated 26th July 1983


A cover featuring William Booth produced for the centenary of Wood Green Corps, London. The pictorial postmark features the Salvation Army Crest and is for Wood Green, London. Dated 10th March 1984


This cover was issued upon the opening of the Orsborn Memorial Halls at Boscombe, Bournemouth. The new halls were named in honour of General Albert Orsborn, who soldiered at the corps. Dated 24th November 1984


This cover was issued for the Salvation Army Carols at Christmas Concert, which was attended by Diana, Princess of Wales. The pictorial postmark is for London SW14. Dated 4th December 1985.


A cover issued to mark the Salvation Army National Goodwill Centenary. The cachet features the wall hanging from the Hoxton Centre. The pictorial postmark is for Hoxton, London. Dated 14th January 1986.


Issued to mark the retirement of General Eva Burrows, this cover features a pictorial postmark for the Salvation Army International Headquarters, London EC4. Dated 8th July 1993
