Volume Three   . . . .

Editorial

Dear Friends, it is with a real sense of pleasure that I am able to write this editorial. Family illness and work issues caused an unexpected hiatus in all aspects of our life including the Association but ‘what a friend we have in Jesus’! Recent weeks have enabled me to focus again on the SAHPA and thank you to all those who have offered support in so many ways, especially in prayer.

Mike Farrow has always been supportive behind the scenes and none more so than in keeping up support for the Association in recent months. In addition to his other roles of coordinating and writing, Mike is also taking on the sorting of philatelic items with a view to preparing a sales list. This will take some time during the summer months but I know those of our members who specialise in philately will welcome his initiative. We have had one extremely successful philatelic sale which also included the collection of one of our members in Finland. I suspect that by the autumn, Mike will be happy to hear of ‘wants’ lists and also advise on the sale of collections. I am also extremely grateful for the support of Alex DeLangen, our philatelic expert who is always happy to hear from other philatelists as is our friend Geoff Maxwell who organises an excellent philatelic journal from his native Australia. Geoff’s email address is geoff@hilton.id.au

Another keen supporter is Terry Hazell who becomes our membership secretary. Terry has considerable expertise in Associations such as ours and his skills will enhance the organisation. Terry can be contacted either at his email address above or to: Mr Terry Hazell, 5 Sispara Gardens, Southfields, London, SW18 1LG. Telephone: 020 88771185. Membership of the SAPHA, which involves two newsletters and a Journal, will now mirror the calendar year. Newsletters will be published in March and December and the Journal in late summer.
