The SA Historical and Philatelic Association is a merger of the Salvation Army Philatelic Circle and The Christian Mission Historical Association. Both bodies have done sterling work in the past and have promoted and advanced both Salvation Army Philately and History. The new Association retains the aims of its predecessors, namely:
To assist and encourage the recording of Salvation Army history and philately and the preservation of heritage.
To publish an Annual Journal providing news of historical and philatelic interest in Salvation Army and related fields.
To facilitate the exchange of historical and philatelic material.
To take Salvation Army history and philately to a wider audience.
To publish occasional papers.
A newsletter is issued (May/June) containing short articles, general news and if there is sufficient material, an auction list. In the Autumn (November)
the new look Journal will be issued. Spring (February/March) will again see another newsletter. The newsletters will be sent electronically where email addresses are given (unless otherwise stated). The Journals will be sent as hard copies.
It is fitting to here to name Harry Hayes as the Association President. His many years of dedication to the
Salvation Army Philatelic Circle made it the overwhelming wish of present members that Harry is offered this position which ,
we are delighted to say, he has accepted.
