SA Regal 78 Association  - Colin Waller

The S.A. REGAL 78 Association has enjoyed another successful year with increased membership, presently fifty-five, and the first complete, catalogued collection of all 220 UK Salvation Army Regals. The quarterly newsletter has contained articles about Herbet Twitchen, who features as conductor, composer and comet soloist; the remarkable Booth family and their contribution as poets and composers; Joe the Turk and his Zonophone concerts, and secular songs inspired by "The Doughnut Girls". The highlight must however be the discovery of the John Lawley records in the United States Library of Congress. Although the 78 era finished almost fifty years ago "new" records are coming to light all the time so please do not hesitate to contact The Association with any information that you think may be of interest.
