Would you like to see your name in print? Read on to find out how easy it can be.

It has become obvious that there is a wealth of research material regarding Salvation Army history that is in private hands and has never seen the light of day.

To try and rectify this Salvation Army Collectables, The Christian Mission Historical Association and Ammonite Publishing have joined forces to provide a publishing service for previously unpublished Salvation Army historical books and booklets.

A brief overview of the terms and conditions are given below. If you have any specific questions please e-mail webmaster@sacollectables.com

Q4. How do I send you the information?
Q5. Do I retain the copyright of my work?
Q6. What if I need some help to complete my research?

Q8. Can I include pictures and photographs?
Q9. How do I sell the finished book?
Q10. I've got my research together but what do I do with it now?

What kind of material will you publish?

Just about anything to do with the Salvation Army and its' history, provided that it is your original work and previously unpublished. For example, the history of your local corps, band or songster brigade. Provided that it has historical merit and is related to The Salvation Army then we're interested.

What formats are available?

We can publish acetate cover, comb bound booklets suitable for corps histories etc. Soft cover books and even fully bound, hard cover books. Which style is used will obviously depend upon the size of the book and the potential number of sales.

^Back To Questions^

How much does it cost?

Hopefully we will be able to publish your book without any upfront cost to you. For suitable material we are prepared to fund the cost of printing and binding and recover this cost from the sale of your book. We are flexible as to how this can be done and are always open to suggestions.

^Back To Questions^

How do I send you the information?

By far the best way for you to submit information is by snail mail (regular post) Sending preformatted documents with graphics by e-mail is not practical due to large file sizes and of course programme compatibility, i.e., your word processor probably isn't the same as ours! As far as graphics are concerned we prefer to work from the originals but as this is not always possible a good quality reproduction can be used.

^Back To Questions^

Do I retain the copyright of my work?

Yes! As long as you have compiled and written the work yourself and it is previously unpublished you will be credited as author or compiler of your book. We will also assist you to obtain copyright approval for any photographs or illustrations that you wish to use.

^Back To Questions^

What if I need some help to complete my research?

No problem! The Christian Mission Historical Association will assist in any way possible to help you complete your book. We may also be able to provide appropriate graphics and illustrations for you to include.

^Back To Questions^

Will you write the corps history for me?

Yes, of course we will but you must provide us with the raw material. i.e., corps history books, etc. (Photocopies are fine but we do prefer to work from the original if possible.) Your corps history books will be insured while in our possession and will be returned at the earliest possible opportunity. If you require us to write your corps history it will become the copyright of Salvation Army Collectables.

^Back To Questions^

Can I include pictures and photographs?

Of course! If you have photographs, postcards, illustrations etc.. we will include those in your book. If you have trouble finding suitable illustrations just let us know. We have access to around 5000 postcards, photographs and prints, many of which are out of copyright.

^Back To Questions^

How do I sell the finished book?

We can help you with this as well. We will certainly include on this site and also in the Christian Mission Historical Journal and the Salvation Army Philatelic Circle Journal. We will also help you get your book listed at Amazon.com

^Back To Questions^

I've got my research together but what do I do with it now?

First, e-mail us a brief description, no attachments please, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Please include the subject of your book, approximate length and when the work was undertaken.
