The stamp was the highest value (40c) of a
set of four Swiss publicity stamps, and commemorates the 75th
anniversary of The Salvation Army in Switzerland.
Known first day cover cachets are:
1. Clenched hands in olive green and bistre
2. Salvation Army lady addressing a meeting
3. Motifs of the set of four stamps in red and blue
4. Reproduction of The Salvation Army stamp in French
5. Reproduction of The Salvation Army stamp in German
6. Army bonnet and 1883/1958
7. Globe with clouds
8. Lettering in Italian, French and English by Editions Volk
The first day of issue cancellation is 27mm in diameter in either
English, French or German. The German cancellation is relatively
scarce.
